2020 was a long year with a pandemic and a poorly sleeping baby. My two year old snuggled up to one month old brother who was (finally!) sleeping in my arms, and I captured this using the selfie camera on my iPhone.
My father-in-law's bees swarmed and left the nest while we were visiting their home in the summer. Shockingly, the bees decided to come home and move back into their nest.
We inherited two rose bushes when we bought a house a few years ago. They have proven to be fun photo subjects.
Great Blue Heron, 2
I discovered a site near our house that is covered with Great Blue Herons in the spring as they feed on the shad spawning in the river. I was able to enjoy a couple mornings watching these fellows strut about and catch fish.
My son and his cousins keeping in touch with their friends.
Color photography delights me, and I love the colors and lines in this portrait of my son.
A family tradition is visiting an apple orchard in western North Carolina. This was our youngest son's first year there, and the brothers had a great time crawling around in the grass.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, my church met outside in our parking lot for a lot of the year. I was excited to see how well this panorama turned out after a quick, single take.
I got a Mavic Mini drone this year and was able to start learning how to make photos and videos with it. I love the colors on this dilapidated barn near my wife's childhood home.
